“At the end of World War II, there was a serious shortage of new buses in London. To ease the situation, two hundred new Briotol E.C.W. double deckers were “loaned” by the nationlised Tilling Group. Amongst these were nineteen lowbridge, intended for Hants & Dorset, with 55 seats and AEC 7.7 litre engines. After twelve months they were delivered to Hants & Dorset who ran them for sixteen to eighteen years. The model shows the bus as operated in London.”
